Our Mission
We aim to eradicate the socio-economic inequality by equipping disadvantaged children and youth in refugee camps in Western Tanzania with skills, information, training, network, and the educational, vocational and psychosocial tools they need to thrive and inspire change both locally and globally.
RYENET envisions to create a community that is free from social strife and inspires self-reliant, literate, and globally-connected individuals, despite their refugee status. RYENET believes that by building connections with like-minded groups of peace builders, NGOs, activists, schools, universities, and research institutions from all across the globe, young refugees in the camps will be able to turn their vulnerabilities into power.
Imani was born in the DRC. Due to civil war and conflicts, his family decided to flee to Tanzania in 2015. While his time in refugee camps was terrible, he is hopeful that RYENET can help him going forward.
